SEADEVIL Delivered: A New Standard for Smart, Green and Ice-Ready MR Tankers
The successful delivery of TMS SEADEVIL, the first of six advanced sister vessels for German Tanker, marks a major milestone in the evolution of modern MR oil and chemical tankers. Delivered on January 8, SEADEVIL embodies next-generation ship design, combining outstanding fuel efficiency, intelligent propulsion technology, and robust ice-class capability.
With a deadweight of 41,000 DWT, SEADEVIL is far more than a conventional MR tanker. Designed by FKAB Marine Design and developed through FKAB’s Sweden and China offices, the vessel features optimized main particulars and a refined hull form tailored for superior performance across global trade routes.
Intelligent Propulsion for Maximum Efficiency
At the heart of SEADEVIL lies a state-of-the-art controllable pitch propeller system with real-time pitch and speed optimization. This advanced propulsion solution dynamically adapts to operating conditions, delivering over 10% improvement in propulsion efficiency. It ensures smooth, seamless transitions between low-speed ice navigation and normal open-water sailing, offering both operational flexibility and reduced fuel consumption.
The propulsion configuration integrates a medium-speed main engine, shaft generator, and variable-speed PTO/PTI/PTH functionality. In port, the vessel can operate efficiently using shore power or with the main engine acting as a generator, significantly reducing emissions during cargo operations.
Built for Ice, Ready for the World
Designed for reliable operation in temperatures as low as –30°C, SEADEVIL is fully compliant with Ice Class 1B requirements. A reinforced propeller and strengthened hull ice belt enable safe and efficient navigation through challenging ice zones, expanding the vessel’s operational envelope and commercial versatility.
Hull Optimization Meets Smart Ship Technology
Energy efficiency is further enhanced through advanced hull optimization, including the patented FKAB F-bow, delivering measurable reductions in fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions throughout the vessel’s lifecycle.

We can proudly advise that all wheels are in full motion for our new building project. Last year we signed for the first 4 units and early this year we confirmed the options for unit number 5 and 6.
Furthermore, we are excited to share that the first steel cut has already taken place and we are confident to keep up the time schedule. We are expecting delivery of the first vessel within the 03rd quarter of 2025 and continuously subsequent units every 4 months.
